ArtPadSF

ARTPAD, San Francisco, May 17-20, 2012

Carmen Wiedenhoeft Gallery will exhibit at ArtPad in San Francisco May 17-20, 2012. The fair is in the Phoenix Hotel, located in the Tenderloin District of San Francisco, a hotbed for the city's emerging artists. The fair has an impressive Advisory Board, including Peter Selz (Professor Emeritus of Art History at UC Berkeley, Founding Director of the Berkeley Art Museum, former Chief Curator of Painting and Sculpture at MoMA).

The Gallery and the artists have amazing, serendipitous links to this fair. Richard Peterson's punk photography of San Francisco in the late '70s is receiving much attention right now. Jeffrey Keith studied at the San Francisco Art Institute from 1973-74 to be in the midst of the Bay Area Figurative School. One of the scholars who understands Jeffrey's work well, Susan Landauer, interviewed him and coincidentally also contributed to the book by Peter Selz, Art of Engagement: Visual Politics in California and Beyond, who we mention above is on the ArtPad Advisory Board.
